Ruth Kimpel Jacobs, age 86, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010. Born April 13, 1924, in St. Louis, MO, she was the daughter of Paul Henry and Anna Amelia (Brand) Kimpel, who preceded her in death. Her husband of 47 years, Richard Justice Jacobs, passed in 1993. In addition to working for many years as a secretary, Ruth enjoyed gardening, Indiana sports, jigsaw puzzles, and dessert. Most important was always her family, friends, pets, and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her brother, Paul Henry Kimpel II (Mary) of Little Rock, AR; her children: Mary Ellen O’Connor (John) of Waccabuc, NY, Richard D. Jacobs of Fort Wayne, Kathy Fullhart (Randy) of Lorton, VA, and Rhonda Fitzwater (Jay) of Indianapolis; and her grandchildren: Richard C. Jacobs (Jody) of Fort Wayne, Stephen J. Fullhart of Bryan, TX, and Abby Marie and Grant Richard Fitzwater of Indianapolis. Ruth was also preceded in death by her sister Eleanor Kimpel, her daughter-in-law Sharlie Jacobs, and her granddaughter Cynthia Marie Jacobs. Ruth was a devoted member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Carmel, for almost 60 years. Funeral services will be at St. Peter's on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 4:30 p.m. with friends calling from 3:00 p.m. until time of services.
