Jesse C. Lewis, Jr., 88, of Indianapolis passed away on June 26, 2010. He was born January 14, 1922 in Indianapolis to Jesse, Sr. and Clara B. Lewis. He attended Tech High School and served in WWII as an Army Sergeant in 1941. Jesse was a foreman in the Sprockets Department at Diamond Chain for 38 years retiring in 1978. He was a lathe operator from 1978 to 1983 at Allison Transmission. He was a member of Zionsville United Methodist Church, Morgantown Lodge 358 F&AM Past Master and 50 year member, Scottish Rite NMJ, Murat Temple, Morgantown OES 579 and Ancient ACC. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ora Lee Lewis; daughter, Linda (Mike) Kennedy; grandson, Kevin (Jen) Kennedy; grandson, Scott (Jenny) Kennedy; granddaughter, Kristen (Brian) Corbett; and great grandchildren, Luke, Carson, Quinn and Claire Kennedy; Ryan, and Lauren Kennedy; Patrick, Kylie and Katelyn Corbett. He was preceded in death by sister, Merita Lewis Oakley. He will be sadly missed but forever remembered by his kind heart, great sense of humor, and unconditional love for his family. Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 10:00am to noon for visitation and memorial service in the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. Entombment will immediately follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens.
