James R. Bahr, 47, of Carmel, died on June 9, 2010. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on March 19, 1963 to Robert and Susan Bahr. His father predeceased him in December 2009. James was a 1982 graduate of Carmel High School, where he played football and ran track, and attended Purdue University. He was a claims manager for Benicorp Insurance Company. He was an avid golfer who loved to cook and his specialty was food prepared on the BarBQue grill. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, college and pro basketball and Colts and Purdue football. Jim had a dry sense of humor which always caught everyone unexpectedly, and a great brain for math equations. Jim is survived by his mother, Susan of Carmel, IN; sister, Jennifer Gilchrist (Alex Frigge); nephew and nieces, A.J. and Ali Gilchrist and Courtney Frigge of Westfield, IN; grandmother, Virginia High of Fort Wayne, IN; aunt, Margaret Coleman of Woodburn, IN.; cousins, Rick and Dee Coleman of Goshen, IN, Cheryl and Gary Dickman of Woodburn, IN and David and Anita Coleman of Spencerville, IN. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 24th at St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
