Helen L. Vargo, 94 of Carmel, passed away on February 6, 2010. She was born in South Bend on February 8, 1915 to Harold and Laverne Geyer. Helen lived in South Bend most of her life. She was a devout Christian who loved to play the organ at her church. She is preceded in death by husband, Joseph Vargo and son, Harold (Hal) Vargo. Helen is survived by sisters, Elnora Schopp of Englewood, OH and Ruth Miller of South Bend; granddaughter, Jan (Milford) Neal; grandson, J. Vargo; great grandchildren, Jake, Jyl and Lacey; niece, Sharon (Keith) Tice; nephews, Dean Miller and Greg Schopp; grandniece, Kristine Tice.
Friends and family may gather on Wednesday, February 10th from 10:00am to noon with a noon service in the Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel. Burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend with a family committal service to take place in the spring.
