Rita Sherwood Neagle, 81, passed away in Olney, Maryland on January 3, 2010.
Born in New York, New York she was the daughter of Bradford and Honora Sherwood. She was a graduate of Hunter College. She lived in Indianapolis for 36 years before moving to Derwood, Maryland.
Rita was a Survey Assistant for Historic Landmarks and a long time volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her husband James T. Neagle, her parents and one brother, Bradford.
Rita was a loving mother and grandmother to her six children and eleven grandchildren.
Survivors include; daughters, Louise Neagle, Maureen Pierce, Ellen Finch (Chris) and Katie Allspaw (Dan); sons, Chris (Angee) and Dennis (Bonnie) Neagle; grandchildren, Scott and Charlie Goldsworthy, Chris and Keith Neagle, Zach and Kira White, J.R. Pierce, Zach and Nick Finch, and Andrew and Brian Allspaw.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, January 8, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 9, starting at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Rita’s family would like to thank the Nursing and Support Staff at Montgomery General Hospital, Olney, Maryland for giving her such tender loving care.
