Henry Miller
February 22, 1989 - May 13, 2009

Henry, you had a very special family. God knew what he was doing when he loaned you to them. You brought so much joy and happiness to your family and they did you as well.
In this time of grief I offer you love and prayers.

Billie Willsey / Inola, Okla

Dear Mary, Brad and Jimmy-
I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Henry. As you know, he has always been one of my dear FG Friends. Even though I didn't get to see him often, he was always so special to me as I have followed his life for so many years.
My favorite photo is of Henry resting peacefully on Mary's
shoulder while having a nap. We all will miss him
dearly. I am praying that all of you find comfort and peace throughout the coming days, weeks and months
knowing that Henry is no longer confined to the struggles
and medical challenges that he has endured for a very long time. This is a very sad time for so many. We will
miss him dearly. Love- Diane, John, Jake and Lee Coz

Mary, Brad and Jimmy.
I am so sorry to hear about Henry. I have enjoyed the stories and pictures through the years with the Halos. He is now resting in the arms of our loving Lord. Know that you all remain in my prayers.

Henry's adventure's are only beginning...he is at heaven's best summer concert tonight, eyeing the fireflies, most loved basket of toys, enjoying a n-i-c-e B-I-G C-O-O-K-I-E and savoring the beat. This time Henry gets to write the songs (lots of drums and boogies). There are friends - new and old and loved ones to keep him safe and happy until a day that you can join him again. Hear that giggle of pure glee and know that God's blessings are forever.
.....For we walk by Faith ...not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7
Love you all now and always, Kathy, Max, Brad & Justin

We are so sad to learn that Henry has left us. We feel so lucky that we've had the opportunity in this lifetime to meet him and his family. He touched our lives in so many ways, even from far away. We can't imagine the magnitude of his contributions to the hearts of those in his community.

All of our love and prayers are with you, Brad, Mary and Jimmy. May God bless you all.

I am sorry for your loss. "Aunt Karen" is a dear friend of mine and has always given me updates on Henry and shared e-mails from Mary. I have always been so moved by Mary's devotion and the way she seemed to view every single moment of Henry's life a special gift from God. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and although I know right now there is much sorrow in your hearts, God is going to use Henry's life through you to do great things!

I have two stories I'd like to share about Henry. I knew Henry when he was in second grade. I worked as a classroom aide in his room, with Deanne Langeman. Everyday Henry and I went out into the hallway to walk. Side by side we would go, and he would cry ALL THE WAY! As though I were torturing him! I did everything I could to encourage, and support, and he would just cry and cry..... We both knew it wasn't the torture he made it out to be! He had us all wrapped around his cute little 2nd grade finger....The way he would look up from his walker....give you those sweet sad eyes that said...."take me back to the classroom".....As sweet as it was...it didn't work! We still pushed him, because we KNEW of his true potential! It has always been one of my favorite memories of Nora Elementary! The second memory I have, I am having difficulty recalling, so I'll give you what I can. There was a point in time where Jimmy and Henry were little...about this time, Henry, I guess was 8 and Jimmy was 6? Anyway, some kids were teasing Jimmy about Henry? And Jimmy Stood up to them, and said GOD MADE HIM THAT WAY, and HE'S MY BROTHER! I know Mary was really proud of Jimmy, and I know everyone that heard that story, was proud of Jimmy too! Henry was one lucky Guy, 2 parents that loved him unconditionally, and a wonderful brother! I'm so very shocked to learn this sad news. I looked through the photo slide on Snapfish, and the lump in my throat is quickly rising up. I will go to sleep tonight dreaming of that dear second grade boy that made my walks down a hallway worth going to work every day!
Love,
Laura

I never had the opportunity to get to know Henry and for that I am very sorry. I did know his parents though...Brad since kindergarten. Henry was very fortunate to have such a special mom and dad. I remember when you came to visit me at the hospital nearly 20 years ago when I had just had my first children (twins). That really meant so much to me because at the time Henry was just a baby and I knew that it was a very challenging time for you. I really wish we hadn't lost touch over the years. I am so sorry for your loss. I know you will miss Henry and all the joy he has given you over the years. You will be in my thoughts and prayers during this time. May the Lord comfort you with many happy memories and the knowledge that Henry is now with Jesus! Blessings to you, Judi

Please know, dear Mary, Brad and Jimmy, how my family grieves with you at this very difficult time. Mary, you have been my personal hero since I met you about 10 years ago at the Washington Twp. parent meetings. As you know, Sharon Lunseth, you and I decided to form our own "support group" called MOMS (Moms Overcoming Mental Stress) and our nights for dinner were always the highlight of my week. While the outings could have been moping sessions, they have always been evenings of sharing and laughter. Lots of laughter. Taking care of Henry was such a joy to you, and your commitment to your wonderful son has inspired me when things in my own life seemed difficult. I've learned from you and Henry and that we are all put on this planet for a reason, and the greatest gift God has given us is the ability to love. Please know that all your friends and family have been touched deeply by Henry and your devotion to him.

To the dear friends Mary and Brad, loving parents of Henry Miller, Jimmy great brother, grandparents and all the people that have shared with him precious moments of his earthly life…
We’re at your side in this difficult moment saying goodbye to this beloved boy.
We know perfectly, walking in the same path of you, how precious has been each little milestone, every smile, every tear… but what was absolutely special and unique in Henry was is beautiful smile...
We hope that he will keep smiling at you from God's large wings where he's resting now and help you to find peace in Him, comforted by the incredibly great faith that you've showed, Mary, in every difficult moment of these twenty years...
Good bye Henry, sweet Angel, you are now in the Kingdom of Peace and Love, but God sent you here to a very special family to learn how sweet is to be loved...

a big big hug to you all
and a big kiss to sweet Henry

I am saddened by Henrys passing. My fondest memory is when Henry, Brad and I went to the Indy Zoo years ago. I pushed Henry in his wheelchair to see the animals, rode the merry go round. ate burgers and fries. Henry smiled and laughed. I know he had a good time as well as I did.

Mary, Brad and Jimmy, thanks for sharing Henry with us.
He was as much a part of the basketball games as Devin
and Jimmy. We expected to see and talk to him at
every game. Your family was blessed with a special
child, because you had so much love to give. A very special Christian family -- happy, caring and supportive. He will be missed, but Heaven is a much better place,
and no doubt, he still feels the love of the many people
whose lives he touched. He was a blessing in life, and
he will continue to be a blessing through fond
memories shared by you and countless others. You will remain in our prayers. May God continue to bless you and grant you peace during this time of transition. The joy will remain in your hearts forever. We love you.

We've only had such a short time to get to know Henry. He brought joy to my heart and put a smile on my face every time I saw him at North Central. When the team lost, we could count on Henry to brighten our mood! Your family is in our thoughts and prayers, as Henry no doubt brings smiles and laughter to those in heaven.

"Where's Henry?, you need to call Mary." Those are the words of Calvin as he wheels in the door from school. Our families met 18 years ago thanks to a very wise physical therapist named Rose. Facing challenges none of us ever dreamed of we became friends and allies in the face of doctor visits, therapies, school, and those who weren't fortunate enough to have such wonderfully unique sons.
Jimmy and Chas came along and added to our wild adventures of raising boys. They certainly learned patience and compassion from their brothers. Jimmy never showed anything but pure love for Henry.
We don't know where Rose is these days but we do know where Henry is...forever in our hearts. And in heaven with his 'happy meals', humming 'Blue Moon' and chuckling as his beautiful brown eyes watch us.
Missed but never forgotten.

I got the brief opportunity to get to know Henry when I worked at SVNH. What I remember the most are the days we would turn on Neil Young really loud and even though it wasn't in the usual way, you could tell Henry was singing with all his heart! I was cleaning the attic over the summer and came across a book Henry had made at school...I kept it! Henry was a beautiful "old soul" and I also recall his mother being just beautiful with him. I wish peace and love and comfort for all of you! Henry left his mark on a lot of hearts.

Misty Turner-Wade / Fishers, IN / mistyturner@yahoo.com

I have mixed emotions over Henry's passing I am happy that he is finally free, free of his struggle's and challenges, yet I ache for for the family he left behind. I only met Henry once when he was 4 or 5 years old. Jim brought him to work one day he just melted the hearts of every one. He loved all the attention, he did not want to leave. I will greatly miss all the stories that Jim used to share with me. Henry was indeed a very special child that was entrusted to Brad and Mary to love and nurture for a very short 20 years, they and the rest of the family have done an outstanding job. They have indeed been well blessed. Henry will be missed but he will reside in our hearts and minds for ever.

Dear Mary and FG family,
at 16.00 (10.00 in Indiana) I went to Oliver’s school to get him from the afternoon lessons. On our way home, we bought a stick of soap bubbles and at 16.30 we blew bubbles in our courtyard to say goodbye to sweet angel Henry.
Some bubbles went on our rose bush, blossoming in these warm days - every rose is a smile of you Henry - and some bubbles went high up on the sky - good bye Henry, may you dance and walk easily along Heaven’s paths. One day we will dance and sing all together, free from any sickness and pain.
This was Oliver’s way to say goodbye to his FG friend Henry.

Brad and Mary and Jimmy,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. You two are truly special parents. As your neighbor, I've watched Henry grow up and have seen what wonderful parents you are to both of your boys.
May God give you the peace in your hearts.

Dear Mary, Brad, and Jimmy-
I heard the sad news of Henry only a few days ago and want you to know that my thoughts and prayers have been with you. He was so lucky to have such a supportive and loving family and he was loved by so many people !!While he was part of my class at Nora I remember a frustrating yet funny situation w/ Henry......we were all on the playground and Henry took out his hearing aide and threw it "somewhere" on this huge playground. I began raking through all of the pea gravel looking for the hearing aide and finally found it after quite some time. The part that I remember most is not Henry throwing the aide in the gravel but both you and Brad reminding me over and over "please don't worry about finding it as it's not a big deal". Now that comment and attitude only comes from loving , understanding, patient, and comforting parents as yourself.!! Fondly, Cindee Essling

Mary, Brad, and family-
It has been heartbreaking to read about Henry's recent hospitalization and passing. You have all been very much in my thoughts...I haven't figured out a way to explain what happened to Lia, who I am sure has wondered where Henry went....aside from the middle school grades, I think they probably had been classmates for more than 10 years. Henry was so lucky to have had such a loving and devoted family, and I know there will be a huge void in your lives without him. May God's peace and strength be with you all...
